Mortaza Baky Haskuee

Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Biography:

I embarked on my academic journey as an Assistant Professor at K. N. Toosi University of Technology, Tehran. During the years 2013 to 2014, I expanded my horizons as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Pecs University, Hungary working on computable general equilibrium modeling. From 2015 to 2021, I assumed the role of heading the Office of Economic Modeling at ISU, Tehran. During this period, I organized and held workshops focused on two key domains: Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) and Econometric Modeling. Moreover, I took on the responsibility of teaching courses at graduate and undergraduate level.

In 2021, I joined the Advanced Disaster, Emergency and Rapid Response Simulation (ADERSIM) and Laboratory for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (LIAM) at York University engage in exploring the macroeconomics of pandemics and post-Covid-19 environmental risk. These studies aim to shed light on the economic consequences of major health crises and to formulate strategies for resilient economies.

To extend my expertise in the field of public health mathematics, I embarked on yet another chapter of my career journey in January 2023, serving as a Research Associate at the prestigious Fields Institute for Research in Mathematical Science, university of Toronto. In this role, I devoted myself to the complexities of public health challenges through mathematical modeling and analysis.
